Body harmony?

Okay, this might sound a bit silly to some, but have any of you experienced anything like, for lack of a term, “true body harmony”? Like where you feel totally in sync with your body and you’re taking care of it, and you don’t feel sick or bloated after eating,  you feel energized by all that you’re doing for yourself, feel in control, and like you your body are team.

Like for example, I eat a very strict diet 95% percent of the time— I exclude all animal products, honey, added sugar, added salt, white flour, white grains, white pasta, hydrogenated oils, fried foods, extremely processed food, all junk food, etc. This is how I eat, it’s become the norm. But this week I decided I really wanted some chocolate chip cookies, so I ate a LOT. Not only did I feel bloated and sick after eating too many cookies, but I felt bloated and sick after everything I ate for the rest of the day! And my eating schedule was severely thrown off! I caught myself mindlessly grabbing for all sorts of other bad foods at random times and felt terrible.

From that, I learned how in-sync I am with my body on a regular day. I NEVER feel bad after a meal, I never get that uncomfortable “I’m full” feeling or bloating, I always feel energized and healthy. That’s how food is supposed to make you feel. However, since that had become the norm, I kind of stopped recognizing it. And as of right now, the morning after, I have absolutely no desire for anymore bad food or sweets, and I am going to remember this feeling next time one of those evil cravings hits.

So yeah, I just wanted to share that experience with you all! Hope you all have a lovely day! <3 Drink your green tea I promise it will make you feel better!

Recipe: Healthy & Vegan Black Bean Tacos!

1 (15oz) can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 - 1 1/2 cups water

Add everything to a frying pan and heat on medium-high until bubbling, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the water has evaporated and the beans become pasty.

Serve on your favorite shell or wrap (preferably whole wheat!) and garnish with tomatoes, green onions, lettuce, gucamole, salsa, whatever you fancy!

Makes 4-6 tacos
